Portrait session prices are for Individuals, Couples, Children, & Families up to 5 people. Pets are welcome!!! For groups larger than 5, please contact Jared for information.
Portrait sittings are usually held at Jared's home studio for indoor and/ or outdoor portrait sessions. Only one session per day is booked, so you will never feel rushed or hurried during your session. Travel is available, contact Jared for information and current travel fees.
Sitting Fee $250.00 - Note: The sitting fee is for the photographer's time creating portraits, and time editing your finished portraits after the session. Digital and print products are purchased separately.
This is typically a 2-3 hour session and includes a fun and relaxed professional portrait experience with a variety of different clothing changes and styles. Jared does not ever rush anything or anyone...he wants your Fine Art Portraits to be as authentically YOU as possible! This all-inclusive fee includes Jared's time during the day of the shoot, and his time editing your portraits and finishing them after the portrait session. In addition, clients receive a custom designed Portrait Box after completion of their digital file order or print order which is carefully crafted from fine walnut wood with beautiful prints inside the box from your session for you to keep and cherish in timeless, classic, printed form! These custom prints will be 5x5, 4x5, or 4.5x6 in size, depending on which camera and format Jared uses. Your portraits will never be lost on the web, or locked away invisibly on a hard drive somewhere to rarely be seen. This custom portrait box with prints makes a unique and distinguished coffee table piece that has a lot of character, where you can view and share your portraits with friends and family any time! The rich, vibrant tones are truly stunning! These portraits are literally wet-printed in photographic development chemistry, paying homage to the traditional printing process (before the age of digital and inkjet prints) on the thick and vibrant Fuji Crystal Archive Supreme photo paper... a premium paper not even offered by most professional printing labs across the country due to it's high cost. You'll be able to literally SEE and FEEL the difference...
*Full set of digital files suitable for email, text, web, and social media. (Not suitable for printing) are included for clients who prefer to purchase prints from their online gallery rather than digital files. This way they can still share with friends and family on the web through email or social media..

1-2 weeks after your session you'll receive an email with a link to your private portrait gallery where you'll be able to purchase Premium Print Products.
Digital Packages - For those who don't want to purchase prints and print products, but want to purchase high resolution digital files and the printing rights from Jared to be able to print their images whenever and wherever they wish, these Digital File Packages are for you!
Digital files are high resolution jpegs, beautifully and meticulously edited and printable up to 30 x 40 inches, or 40 x 40 in square format.

2023 Weddings and Elopements
Weddings and Elopements are billed at $300 per hour with a two hour minimum. Clients receive beautifully edited, high resolution files uploaded to a private, online gallery that come with Jared's printing rights so clients can print them whenever they wish! Clients also have the ability to order higher quality prints and products directly from their gallery. Jared has worked with the same custom printer for over twenty years and their quality simply can't be beat.
FAQ
Do you shoot destination weddings?
A.Yes. I have captured weddings locally, but also in various other U.S. states. I do not travel outside of the United States currently. If it is within the United States, I'm all about it!
Will there be a second shooter?
A.No, not unless there is a special situation or circumstance. I am very passionate about my artwork whether it is a portrait session, a wedding, or I'm creating Fine Art Prints on black and white film with my medium format film cameras. It's not MY eye, my art, my creation if there is a second shooter with me on a job. When you hire Jared Hughes, Jared Hughes is what you will get!
Can I extend the session on the day of?
A.I have a very limited number of sessions because I only schedule one session per day. So yes! If you would like to extend your session on the day of our shoot, you can. You are my only focus and client for the day!
What kind of gear do you use?
A.For digital, I choose to shoot with a high end, medium format digital camera body. This means, my digital sensor is LARGE, capturing more quality detail than most photographers. You'll find that most photographers shoot with a 20-30 megapixel full-frame sensor, which is MUCH smaller than mine, and can't compete with my image quality!
For fine art film sessions, I shoot with 3 premium medium-format film cameras. One is a 6x4.5, other is a 6x6, and then a 6x7 cm negative. Excellent, classic quality that can't be beat. My medium format film cameras include: Hasselblad 500CM, Mamiya RZ67 Pro, and a Pentax 645 NII.
Do I have to order prints through you?
A.Yes. And the reason is very simple: I have worked with the same professional portrait printers for over eighteen years now. They are very familiar with my style, and they know the aesthetic I seek to create with my artwork. The quality of their work is unparalleled, and one thing I have learned is that not all printing companies are created equal! The relationship between photographer and printing company is very personal, customized, and critical. I personally inspect every printed portrait to make sure it meets my standards and expectations. Portraits are printed on Fuji Crystal Archival Supreme photographic paper. This quality paper is not even used by most labs due to its cost. Wait until you feel the thickness, see for yourself the rendering of colors!
What do we have to do to book a session? Is there a deposit? When do we pay for the session?
A.To reserve your date on the calendar, the non-refundable session fee is due upon booking. We can accept PayPal as well as most major credit cards for your convenience.
How long after the session is over will the our portraits be ready to view online?
A.For a standard portrait session, up to 1 week for your proof gallery to be ready. Once your proof gallery is ready, it will be hosted for 7 days so that you may order your prints and enlargements. For Weddings, please allow up to 4 or 5 weeks for completion after your special day. Clients will receive a custom, wooden Keepsake box with 4x5 proof prints that are theirs to keep, and image numbers are printed on the back of each print for the purpose of identification when ordering their enlargements.
How long will we have access to our gallery to order prints after they are uploaded?
A.Once your gallery is complete, I will send email invitations to all of the email addresses you provide me with so that all of your family and friends may have the option to view and purchase any portraits they may wish to own. From that time, your private gallery will remain active for one week in order for you to be able to complete your portrait orders.
